The Combo Proximity Warning and Alert System integrates both Tag and Non-Tag PWAS technologies into a single solution. This combination offers greater flexibility and allows for quick and easy adaptation to various site safety needs. The system provides comprehensive accident prevention by covering Vehicle-to-Individual and Vehicle-to-Vehicle scenarios and can detect objects to prevent backover accidents. It also features event and hazard recording, which aids in risk assessment and incident investigation.
The PWAS control unit is mounted next to the heavy equipment operator inside the vehicle. It triggers an alarm when detecting personnel or objects approaching the hazard zone, alerting the operator to potential risks. The system includes tag detection, which identifies personnel carrying tags as they enter hazardous areas. Additionally, the unit records events and hazards, providing valuable data for evaluating and managing worksite safety.
The PWAS sensor is installed on the rear of the vehicle, creating an extensive detection zone that identifies personnel and objects. The standard detection range is set to eight meters, with the flexibility to be adjusted based on the specific requirements of the site.
The PWAS control unit is situated next to the operator within the vehicle. It issues an alarm when it detects a tag, alerting the operator that a person wearing the tag is nearing the hazard zone. The integrated antenna provides 360-degree detection around the vehicle and can recognize PWAS tags from up to 15 meters away. The control unit also includes event and hazard recording capabilities, which assist in risk assessment and enhance overall workplace safety.
Backover accidents often occur due to limited operator visibility. The Proximity Zone is designed to mitigate this issue by defining a specific hazard area where objects crossing it can be detected. The default Proximity Zone covers an approximate 180-degree field with an 8-meter range, which can be adjusted according to the site’s safety requirements.
Integrating the PWAS Camera and Monitor with the PWAS enhances operator confidence by improving visibility of personnel and property in the machinery's blind spots. Cameras are installed at both the front and rear of the machinery, while the monitor is situated in the cab to provide clear visual feedback and alerts. Additional cameras can be added as needed to meet specific site requirements.
